Caipín Slaparchluasach / Skull Cap

Found in "Drawn After The Quick" (c.1550) and an example can be seen in the National Museum of Ireland. Two types existed. The first had uneven lappets and were tied to one side of the face. The second type had equal length lappets. Known as a Skull Cap by the English. This is a close fitting winter hat.
